Hi! I’m Kristin – Owner at Studio420 Brows.
I grew up in a small town, Thatcher, Arizona with my parents and 7 siblings, and grandparents close by. I played volleyball, basketball, and danced on the drill team. I’m 6ft tall and clients are always surprised by my height and say I look a lot shorter in pics and videos.
I met my husband in college – he was my boss. He was a restaurant manager, and I was a waitress. It was love at first sight for him (Haha). We dated a month and a half, got engaged, and were married 6 months later. We’ve now been married 28 years, and have 5 children: 3 boys, 2 girls. My family moved to Austin, TX in 2008 for my husband’s job transfer. We LOVE Austin and don’t plan to ever leave!
I have a passion for people. I love people. I love getting to know them and I honestly believe there is beauty in every person I meet.
I’ve had many jobs – retail clerk, waitressing, inside sales for a computer distributor, orthodontic lab owner, and realtor. While all of them had interaction with people, I kept trying to find the perfect fit for me. None of them did it for me.
I have always had a love for all things hair and makeup, so after YEARS of being a stay-at-home-mom, ( we had 5 kids in 7 years ) I went to cosmetology school in 2006 to pursue my real passion, which is making people HAPPY. It’s the BEST!
I LOVE making women feel and look beautiful. Women carry the weight of the world on their shoulders. If I can help take a load off and help them escape their stresses for a little while, it’s so rewarding for me. It’s AMAZING what a little cut, color, blowout, and a little makeup can do for a person. Not only do these things enhance their outward beauty, but they leave FEELING beautiful. They leave with a little more swagger and sparkle in their eye and are ready to tackle their challenges with a little more confidence. The transformation is incredible to watch. It makes ME so happy.
In 2016 I signed up for a microblading class to offer this service to my hair and makeup clients. I quickly discovered that eyebrows have a bigger impact on how a woman feels than what her hair or makeup does for her! Hair and makeup are temporary, eyebrows are semi-forever. They transform the face more than any other feature. If the brows are jacked up, it doesn’t matter how good your makeup is applied, or how well your hair is styled. I think good teeth might be the second most important feature on a face, but since you can’t hide bad brows behind closed lips, BROWS are definitely the most important feature for framing the face. Think about it. Am I right?
BROWS have now taken over my profession and life. I occasionally still do hair and makeup, but I’m OBSESSED with eyebrows. I study them, I practice them, I can’t stop looking at them.
